LDW Recap

How in the world has it been a week since I last blogged?! Sorry friends. Life has been flying by lately, in the best kind of way.

I plan on providing more detailed posts about the weddings we had this weekend when I have time to catch my breath and process all of the pictures, but let me tell you- we had such a blast this weekend! Two of the most amazing weddings back to back. J and I are so lucky to have such an incredible group of family and friends.

So for now, here's what else we did this weekend:

Anyone else enjoy the Labor Day shopping sales?! Ann Taylor got me, my mother-in-law, and sister-in-law. Gotta love being walking distance to Providence Place for wedding #1 this weekend! I walked away with these three tops.

 1 / 2 / 3

And on the way home, J and I got a steal at the Restoration Hardware Outlet. Yes, I was just there recently. But you see, J is a stickler in stores where I could easily wander for hours and makes sure I know we're there for one reason. So when we went for the vanities, I didn't consider looking at lighting. We snagged 3 of these lights for $267. Yes, you read that price at RH for one right. Sold! Cross your fingers they work out perfectly because we LOVE them. And- they gave me a 25% off entire purchase coupon good at the end of this month. Yesss.

After wedding #2 we headed home for a lobster cookout at my parents. They did it last year (J and I were jet setting at the time) and had so much fun they decided to host it again. Twist my arm, I guess you can make me lobster and steamers for dinner with grilled corn on the cob.

We surprised my aunt with this fresh fruit, cool whip, pound cake birthday dessert and spent time playing bocce in the yard. Oh, and my crazy dog decided he liked swimming again. He is so strange.

Monday we slept in, caught up on Ray Donovan, and only changed out of our PJs to run a few errands. The fridge was basically empty, so it was time to get my butt into gear. If you don't watch Ray Donovan you really should. God he is such a stud. The show ain't too bad either.

Did you see all that lobster above? That was only half of it....so we were all sent home with leftovers. Yess! Although we were originally planning on lobster rolls, I needed more butter with my lobster. So J whipped up the most incredible meal - lemon, garlic, butter sauce with dried oregano, fresh parsley, and tomatoes from my parents garden. Oh and basil linguini I had randomly picked up. It was ah-mazing.

How was your holiday weekend?

Stay tuned Friday for a sneak peek at our bathroom renovation. Things are starting to come together nicely. Eek! :)

Have a great day

A Midsummer Night's Wedding

This past Saturday, I had the privilege of watching a very close friend marry the man of her dreams. It was such a beautiful day. The weather was perfect, the venue was gorgeous, and Natalie and Tom were glowing. I was so happy to be there to celebrate and spend time with all of my college roommates. Where we are spread across several states these days, it's very rare that we are all able to get together.

The wedding was held at Plimouth Plantation. Which, for many of us from the area, is known for its reenactment of the Pilgrims! (And apparently you can pay to have pilgrims at your wedding!) But besides its historical endeavor, it's location is seriously ideal. Halfway between Boston and Cape Cod (ok maybe a little closer to the Cape but that just makes it even better), on the water, and major gardens. I can't believe I had never been to this venue before!

The Ceremony

A groom awaiting his bride!
The entrance was so neat. I may have been a little nervous getting down these stone stairs in a dress but I bet the photos are going to be amazing. The greenery is so lush this time of year.

Here comes the bride!
I so wish I snapped a photo of Natalie's shoes for you guys. Picture rose gold, t-strap wedges...gorgeous!
A quick glimpse of the ceremony site afterwards. Soo green and gorgeous!

The Details

These were new to me and I'm obsessed: Antique Hydrangeas. Absolutely love them!
J and I both ordered the swordfish....and were not disappointed whatsoever. So so good.

The Reception

Don't be fooled...Natalie with the help of her family, strung each and every one of these lanterns. Don't they look amazing?!

The venue sits on the Eel River, which meets up with the Atlantic (far body of water in this picture). Stunning view!

J's idea of a good picture pose...

Absolutely love these ladies

What a beautiful sky! Seriously, ideal weather.

My only complaint about the wedding is that it went by too fast! It was such a fun evening celebrating with the best of friends. We had so much fun! Can't wait until another college roommate ties the knot (next year!).

Congratulations Natalie & Tom!

xoxo

Friday Recap: What We've Been Up to

Well, hasn't life just been flying by lately?!

I figured I'd post a little recap of what we've/I've been up to! Here's 10 things:

1. In the beginning of November I went to a wine tasting event with a great group of girls. College friends, their friends from home, and sister-in-laws.

I make a great desk. Gotta keep track of our vino! These are the ladies I lived with out of college before J proposed. As much as I love living with my hubs, man did we have a great time together!
The reason I haven't posted about this outing yet? Well, right after this picture was taken by a complete stranger who we asked to snap the pic, she dropped my camera! Who does that?! Onto a brick floor too. So ya, my camera broke. But the people at Canon are awesome and fixed her up in a flash. #thankgodforoneyearwarranties

2. This puppy dog is so spoiled these days I can't even stand it. I'm creating a monster.

3. My sister-in-law talked me into a Thanksgiving 5k this year. Yes, we gave up our traditional Bloody Mary's for breakfast to run. This level of maturity means one thing, we are getting old. It's ok though, drinks followed the race.

4. The day after Thanksgiving, I had to work....womp, womp. First time I have ever worked this day. But, a) the market closed at 1 and b) I had an amazing concert to look forward to! The night J proposed, he played this song for me earlier that day- this new guy he wanted me to hear. I half listened, told him it was great and went on with whatever I was doing. Later that night, after he totally caught me off guard and proposed, the song played again! That song became our first dance at our wedding and we have loved this man ever since. Ray LaMontagne has this sultry, smokey voice that is unbelievable live. This was our third year going to his concert and this year was the best. An acoustic set. An acoustic "Your are the Best Thing"? Ya, it was awesome.

5. Oh man, I am having a major jewelry issue. This is my bureau....how embarrassing! But don't worry, I have something in the works already.

6. Christmas decorations are out! Gotta get us tree next week. Can't wait!

7. Bootcamp is going strong! One thing I'm really loving is the ability to do the strength workouts at home. This cold weather in Boston does not have me wanting to trek to the gym! That sweaty face is after rounds of burpees, pushups, squats, one-legged squats, calf raises, etc. Tough stuff. Burpees kick my @$$!

8. Ahhh, time to organize. As much as I use google calendar, I need something more tangible. I need to see what my whole week looks like each weekend and plan out Tucker's walks, dinners, what needs to be mailed out, etc. My mind has been so cluttered lately. I'm hoping this helps!

9. J & I just booked our Spring trip to Florida!! 5 days, 4 nights in the sun. Tina has another bootcamp starting the first week of January. I will definitely be doing that for 8 weeks! Gotta get into beach shape!

10. Lastly, J & I are on our way to Charlotte today! Spending a weekend with J & A, as well as my college roommate and her boyfriend who moved down there this summer. I am SO excited to explore a new city, see both couples' new places, and just relax in much warmer weather than Boston. Mid - 60's whaaat! :)

Have a great weekend friends!

Photobooths!

What a great way to end the week....with a ton of fun photobooth photos we've taken at some of the weddings this year.

I really wish I had considered one for my own wedding now. They are SO fun!!! There are basically no words to describe these photos so, enjoy!

This one deserves some special attention because its HILARIOUS! Oh you crazy newlyweds. ;)

Have a great weekend! And take some funny photos with yo friends.
